You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
I would want to rephrase this quote as to „it's never too late“. I have promised to myself to blog every second day, but I am failing due to various reasons. However, I am trying my best, and I suppose, that counts. I have a plan in word document, and a set goal and I have promised myself, I would treat myself to something very luxurious and special once the goal was reached. But then along came Douglas event. I am really happy, that they started doing various events, because it is a wonderful opportunity to make connections, chat with employees and get excellent customer service. I have already wrote about their events here and here, and they seem to continue on this track.
This time event was fancier, since they offered your personal engraved YSL item with the purchase. Luxury buys isn't usually something I go for, but Yves Saint Laurent with my name on it? Yes, please! I have even consulted Stumble Puppy, just to see how crazy this idea was, but he said go for it, so I did. So, as you can see, instead of waiting after my goal was reached, I decided to pre-motivate myself with a luxury purchase. Because how many of us can say we have a personalized lipstick?
Sadly, I had to work that day, so I couldn't be there on the opening time, and when we got there, it has died down. I totally planned to make pictures, but, to be honest, I was too shy to whip my camera out, when there was nearly noone there. I really need to get better at that, but I suppose it comes with time. On the other had, few people meant that makeup artist could devote all her time to me, and help me to pick out the best shade for me. And I am pretty picky with my lipsticks, so she had to bring me various shades over and over again. She was really helpful and tried every shade on me until I found the one I was happy with. At 35eur it is an investment for me, and since it has my name on it, I wanted to be able to take it out anywhere with pride. Although to be honest, all I feel like doing, is to frame it and hang it up on the wall to admire everytime I pass through. I do believe, we chose the right shade for me, and I can't wait to see how it wears and looks, and I will do a separate post on that, once I can find someone who can take pictures of me, but for now, I suppose, I just wanted to brag.
Do you have an expensive luxury purchase you value? Do you look at high end makeup as a neccessity, investment or a treat? Do let me know!
